Party General Secretary Vaiko participated in the meeting and delivered the keynote address.
The following resolutions were adopted in the meeting:
Resolution 1
The Legal Wing of MDMK respectfully extends its greetings and salutations, expressing confidence that the Samathuva Padayathirai (Equality March) led by the uncompromising political leader and padayatra icon, Thiru Vaiko, commencing on January 2, 2026, at the Tiruchirappalli Uzhavar Sandhai and concluding on January 12, 2026, at Oppilapuram, Madurai, will achieve historic success.
Resolution 2
In the 2026 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections, the advocates of the MDMK Legal Wing resolve to work wholeheartedly and effectively for the success of the alliance parties in which MDMK participates. The meeting further affirms that the Legal Wing will stand as a strong protective shield for the growth and strength of the party.
Resolution 3
The meeting strongly condemns the Union Government for removing the name of “Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme”, named after the Father of the Nation and a renowned lawyer, Mahatma Gandhi, and replacing it with an incomprehensible title in an unfamiliar language.
Resolution 4
Considering the needs of the present time, to avoid unnecessary travel hardships, and to enable easy access for economically weaker sections, the meeting urges the Union Government to establish a bench of the Supreme Court in Chennai, a long-standing demand.
Resolution 5
The meeting condemns the Union Government for forcibly imposing a fully online system for filing cases in courts without adequately considering the difficulties, delays, and hardships faced by advocates and court staff. The meeting strongly urges the authorities to hold discussions with Bar Association representatives and arrive at an appropriate solution to bring the ongoing indefinite court boycott to an end.
Resolution 6
The meeting demands that the Union Government immediately take steps to enact a Lawyers’ Protection Act that would ensure the safety and welfare of the legal fraternity.
Resolution 7
With the objective of strengthening the MDMK Advocates’ Wing, the meeting resolves to form MDMK advocates’ panels in all courts.
