What Vaiko said while speaking to reporters at Tiruchirappalli Airport:
He said that although there may appear to be some friction between the DMK and the Congress party, it will fade away. He mentioned that there was some uneasiness during the meeting between DMK Deputy General Secretary Kanimozhi and Rajya Sabha members, but that issue has now been resolved. He added that despite the BJP leaders repeatedly humiliating the AIADMK, Edappadi Palaniswami continued to tolerate it.
Referring to the upcoming Union Budget, he said some collections would be made from Tamil Nadu, but the budget would be framed with the intention of deceiving the people of Tamil Nadu and would neglect the state to an unprecedented extent. He asserted that Prime Minister Modi’s belief that the people of Tamil Nadu could be misled would never succeed.
He further said that the Chief Minister has stated that the DMK alliance will win in more than 200 constituencies, and he fully endorses that view. He added that discussions would be held with the DMK leadership regarding how many constituencies the DMK alliance partners would contest and which constituencies they would contest in, after which a decision would be taken. He concluded by saying that the election symbol to be used should be waited for and seen.
