The Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election is likely to be held in the month of April. With only a couple of months left for the polls, political parties have begun intensifying their election-related activities.

Political parties are actively engaged in various efforts such as campaigning, public meetings, alliance formation, seat-sharing, and candidate selection. In this context, the MDMK is part of the DMK-led alliance.

In this situation, MDMK General Secretary Vaiko met the media today. Speaking on the occasion, he said:

“The DMK alliance will win the election. The DMK will certainly secure an absolute majority. Even after the 2026 elections, M.K. Stalin will once again assume office as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The Dravidian Model government will continue in Tamil Nadu. The MDMK has not placed any demand for a share in power or governance. We also have no intention of seeking a share in power or authority.”

He further said, “The Union Budget is highly disappointing. There was an expectation that, considering the Assembly elections in five states, more schemes would be allocated to those states in the Budget. But that expectation has ended in disappointment.”
